Unsigned Senior RHP Michael Hall (Bryan Station HS) Shows Velocity Gains

Bryan Station unsigned senior RHP Michael Hall attended our Top Prospect Games Event last June and our Unsigned Senior Games in August, and on both occasions the results were virtually the same.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder showed an 80-82 mph fastball to go along with a 74-75 mph sharp breaking ball.  Hall showed complete command of his pitches with the ability to consistently throw his breaking ball for strikes, and what was even more impressive was the complete confidence he had in throwing it on any count.

Here was the question with Hall.  With his larger frame was there any additional velocity in the tank, or was he going to be a guy that maxed out in the low 80’s?  It was a question he would soon answer.

Nearly a month ago I attended the Ohio Valley Showcase at Champions Baseball Academy in Nicholasville (where our Preseason All-State Showcase is being held on Sunday).  When I saw Hall was one of the pitcher’s listed on the roster, I was anxious to see him throw to find out if he had picked up any velocity.

Hall showed he had done just that.  His fastball sat 83-85 mph throughout his bullpen session, and he once again showed good feel for his sharp breaking ball in the 73-74 mph range.  It was the first time I had seen Hall’s fastball touch anything above 82, and he was certainly one of the top arms in attendance.

With the increase in velocity and the pitchability Hall shows, expect a big season from him on the mound this spring for Bryan Station.
