Evan Regez is our unsigned senior spotlight of the day. This left handed hitting catcher from Herscher HS  led the Tigers to a third place finish in the 2012 IHSA 2A State Tournament. He finished off the year hitting a massive .465 with 53 hits and driving in 28 RBI.

Regez is a lanky left-handed hitting catcher at 6-foot-1, 160-pounds. There is quite a bit of projectability in his game as he will continue to fill out. Defensively, Regez shows solid arm strength at 73 mph from the crouch. He displays athletic feet behind the dish, while showing soft hands, receiving the ball well. Regez has recorded pop times of 1.97-2.13 while displaying loose, quick actions.

Offensively, Regez hits from the left side out of a tall open stance. His bat path was short and level producing line drives. Regez also shows solid foot speed for a catcher running a 7.19 in the 60.

Regez will undoubtedly look to outperform last season’s finish and advance one game further, hopefully bringing a title back to Herscher.
