Unsigned Senior Spotlight: LHP/OF Miles Lee

Miles Lee, LHP/OF, St. Xavier HS, 2014lee

Miles Lee is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound LHP/OF who showed well at the Kentucky Top Prospect Games Event in June.

On the mound, Lee’s long and loose arm produced a fastball that topped at 84 mph with good arm-side run, and he showed the ability to cut his fastball in on the hands of right-handed hitters.  He showed good command of his secondary pitches with his curveball flashing good depth at 68-69 mph and his 75-77 mph changeup showing good run and sink.

As an outfielder, Lee showed a very accurate arm at 87 mph.  In fact, every throw he made from right field was on the third base bag.  He showed athletic actions with fluid feet and played through the ball well.  The right-handed hitter showed the ability to make hard contact to all fields and ran a 7.06 60 yard dash.

Not long after the Top Prospect Games Event, Lee ran into some shoulder soreness and was diagnosed with a slight tear in his labrum that required surgery.  We recently featured his road to recovery and checked in with him for another update last month.

As of mid-December, Lee said his arm was feeling great, and he was progressing well through his throwing program, throwing from 180 feet.  He was scheduled to begin throwing off the mound at the end of December.

Barring any unforeseen setbacks, Lee, currently ranked No.31 in the 2014 class, will be participating in the Preseason All-State Showcase in Lexington on February 17.  The showcase will provide him with a big opportunity to show he is back to 100 percent as he heads into his senior season at St. Xavier.
