Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Nathan Hunt (Hawken HS)

Nathan Hunt, RHP, Hawken HS

At 6-foot3,193-pounds, Nathan Hunt can easily be seen by his opponent on the pitcher’s mound.  However, he is also getting noticed by several Division 1 colleges.

The right-hander from Hawken has been communicating with the following schools: Miami (OH), Wagner College, Fordham University and Villanova University.

He is planning to make a decision before the high school season ends.

His PBR scouting report say:

The 6-foot-3, 193-pound right-handed prospect has a long, lanky build. His fastball, which has effective arm side run, sits at 83-85 mph. Meanwhile, his slider sits at 74-76 mph. Lastly, his changeup sits at 71-73 mph. He could be an interesting follow heading into the spring.

With a 3.22 GPA, academics will be a deciding factor when making his college choice.  ”I would like to play at a Division I school. A good coaching staff and academics are the most important aspects for me.”

Last year on the mound, Nathan compiled the following stats: 1.83 ERA and 46 strikeouts in just 34 1/3 IP.

With a fastball that is consistently 83-85 mph, Hunt believes that his arm strength and baseball IQ are some of his most valuable assets.

During the summer Nathan plays for the Ann Arbor Travelers.

They are expecting to play in the following tournament: Black Swamp Classic, Connie Mack WS Qualifier in Tempe, AZ and in Flemington, NJ.
