Alex Somerville is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound RHP that has yet to make a college commitment. The righty showed well on Sunday at the annual pro showcase in Morgantown where he sat 80-82 with some run to his fastball. Somerville also commanded a 64 mph curveball with 11/5 break and a 74 mph changeup. He has an athletic frame and should add additional velocity in years to come.

Somerville is coming off a junior season in which he was named special mention all-state. He went 6-1 on the mound with a 2.98 ERA in 78 innings of work. Somerville was named honorable mention all-state as a sophomore in 2012 when he went 5-1.
