8.9.17: Atkinson is 5-10 with an athletic frame, he hits from the right side from a crouched stance with his weight back. Short leg kick stride on line, smooth load back to a wrap. Full hip rotation, some balance to swing. Short to the ball, level line drive swing, good approach working gap to gap during his BP round, exit velocity was 79. At short, clean feet, works around the ball and fields it with and wider base and above average hands. Plays through the ball to a clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 68. Ran a 7.10 60 yard dash.
