Updated 2018 Illinois Rankings: Top LHP's

On Monday of this week the 2018 rankings were updated and expanded from 35 to 75. Due to the numerous events since the last update the depth of the 2018 class has strengthened considerably. There are now 14 left-handed pitchers ranked in the sophomore class. The top left-hander in the class, Nathan Lavender (El Paso), was mentioned in the 2018 rankings story posted earlier this week.

The No. 3 left-hander in the class is Steven Sanchez (Mundelein). 6-foot-7, 220-pound, Sanchez, is still growing into his extra-large frame and currently sits in the low 80’s with his fastball. He also, spins a 12/6 breaking ball with good depth and shape. Sanchez is the No. 10 ranked sophomore in Illinois.
