As we welcome May and begin to gear up for the playoffs in Virginia and DC, its time for another update to the Power 25. Remaining at No. 1 is Liberty Christian, who is still unbeaten and has essentially been unchallenged so far this spring. Up to No. 2 this week is Lake Braddock, who has established itself as the clear favorites from the North in VHSL 6A. St. Christopher's bumps up to No. 3 and James River (Midlothian) slides up to No. 4 as Benedictine fell to No. 5. Benedictine picked up a big win against No. 11 Hanover during the week, but split a doubleheader on Saturday to pick up its second loss of the spring.

Remaining at No. 6 is Paul VI and moving up to No. 10 is St. John's College, with the two WCAC superpowers on a collision course for a matchup in the best-of-three Championship Series, which is slated to begin Thursday. Both teams have tricky semifinal matchups to get through first, but are likely to advance with the series format that the WCAC uses as opposed to the single-game format used in other playoffs in our coverage area.

Entering the rankings this week at No. 14 is Powhatan. The Indians' only losses this spring came on a trip to North Carolina early in the season and they have gone undefeated against opponents from Virginia.

Re-entering the rankings this week at No. 24 is Prince George. The Royals have been on a roll for the last few weeks and blew out Dinwiddie and Woodside this week to jump back into the rankings. Also back in after a few weeks out and sharing the No. 25 spot are Highland School and Atlantic Shores Christian. Highland has dominated their conference this spring and Atlantic Shores has recovered from a slow start to look like the team we expected all along, capping their recent run off with a win over Benedictine on Saturday.

Enough talk, lets look at the Power 25 for 5/7
