Welcome to the 2018 VA/DC Scoreboard, where we will post scores and recaps from games around our coverage area. We will put the Scoreboard up twice a week this season. The Tuesday scoreboard will feature games from the weekend and Monday. A second Scoreboard will run on Friday mornings with scores from the week. In these posts, we will focus on making sure scores and some recaps are included for teams in or near our Power 25.

Power 25 Rankings in the scoreboard reflect where a team was ranked at the time the game was played.

Junior Williamson had two hits and senior Will Schroeder (North Carolina) hit two home runs.

Landon Higgerson allowed one hit in a five inning complete game shutout.

Senior catcher Clay Lloyd hit a home run in the win. Carlton Redd was the winning pitcher with Alex Lowery and Drew Harlow (Radford) throwing in relief.

No. 25 Western Albemarle 6, Spotswood 1
Senior Derek Domecq (Radford) threw four scoreless innings striking out seven to earn the win. Domecq was also 1-1 with three BBs.

Seahawk senior Josh Taylor threw a perfect game, notching 13 strikeouts in the process.

Junior Matt Michel threw five innings, striking out four to pick up the win. Sophomore Blake Fisher had three strikeouts in two innings to earn the save while also going 1-3 with 2 RBI and a double at the plate.

Senior Max Harper (VMI) went 3-4 with a double and a home run, also had 5 RBIs.

Senior John Farley (Eastern Kentucky) struck out twelve in the win for the Wildcats. South County senior Jack Cone (William & Mary) was good as well, striking out 5 in 5 innings of work.

Sophomore righty Teddy Merritt threw five innings of 1-hit ball and struck out 11 in the win. Marshall Pratt hit a home run for the Highlanders.

Sophomore Nathan Cmeyla was 2-3 with 2 RBI and senior Brandon Hamm was 3-4 with 3 RBI.

Senior Alec Roberts (Charlotte) had a home run and 3 RBIs in the win. Jack Bachmore picked up the win with 4 innings, allowing 1 run, while also going 2-4 with a 2B at the plate.
