With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Waynedale Golden Bears
Team Name: Waynedale Golden Bears
Head Coach: Justin McDowell
Division: III
2017 Record: 15-12-1
Conference Record: Wayne County Athletic League, 8-6, 4th (Tied)
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/6
Team Strengths:

- Leadership
Coach Outlook: “We have a lot of experience back from a district runner-up team last year. We return 3 of our top 4 pitchers and 7 regular starters. Our league is very tough top to bottom and every game in it is competitive. If we can score some runs, we have a chance to have a very good year.”
PBR Outlook: Two years ago the Golden Bears made it to Huntington Park, and after a district runner up season a year ago, coach McDowell and the Golden Bears have their eyes set on bigger things. With the experience and arms they have returning for 2018 look for Waynedale to be a presence come tourney time.
