Indy hosts national high school game of the week

Left handed pitcher and University of Texas bound Dillon Peters will start on the mound for Cathedral, while Lawrence Central?s Jared Ruxer will take the mound for the Bears.  Ruxer is headed to the University of Louisville next fall.

Saturday night?s game will be a rematch of last year?s sectional final when the Irish beat the Bears 4-1.  In that meeting, Peters struck out 13 Bears hitters and also hit a game winning 3-run homerun.  Ruxer kept the Bears in the game by striking out 11 Irish hitters and only giving up 4 hits.  Alex Chittenden, now at the University of Louisville, hit a home run for the Bears.

In game one of the Victory Field Classic 6th ranked Zionsville will take on the Noblesville Millers. Zionsville will look to avenge last year?s sectional championship loss to Noblesville when they were shut out by the Millers 5-0.

The gates at Victory Field will be open at 5 p.m.  Game one is scheduled to start at 5:30, with game two starting no earlier than 7:30.  Tickets are $5, and parking in the Victory Field lot is $3.
