Chesterfield, MO: After a rainout on Thursday, CBC and Francis Howell North got back on the diamond Friday afternoon in the Class 4, District 7 championship game, with the winner moving on to host District 8 champion Francis Howell. CBC came out of the chutes swinging, taking the championship game by a score of 6 to 1.

""In the bottom of the first, CBC wasted no time scoring. After Danny Chastain was hit by a pitch and a walk to starting pitcher Brennan Devers, red hot Mike Ehrhard (right) smacked a two RBI double, scoring Chastain and Devers putting CBC up 2-0. The two RBIs were the fourty second and fourty third of the season for Ehrhard, putting him in second place in the CBC record book for RBIs in a season. Ehrhard would advance to third base on a wild pitch and come around to score on a fielder?s choice ground out by Joe Schrimpf. With two outs in the first, Parker Stewart doubled followed by an RBI double by David Schmidt, driving in Stewart and putting CBC up 4-0.

?With runners in scoring position, I was looking for something to drive and start the game off on a good note,? said Ehrhard on his two RBI double

CBC would score another run in the bottom of the third inning. Brennan Devers drew a lead off walk and advanced to third base on wild pitches. Parker Stewart?s fielder?s choice bunt would allow Devers to score.

CBC would tack on their last run of the game, once again provided off the bat of Mike Ehrhard. Ehrhard drilled a full count slider to deep left center for his tenth home run of the season, and fourty fourth RBI. The home run and RBI both tied the CBC single season records.

?It feels great, we are fired up,? Ehrhard said about CBC moving on to sectionals. ?I think we have the advantage because we have been there before.?

Starting pitcher Brennan Devers went the distance for CBC, scattering five hits and allowing one run. This was the fourth complete game for Devers on the season.

Francis Howell North scored their lone run in the top of the second on a solo homerun by Kyle Schikore.

?We did some good things today. We had good approaches and a good game plan at the plate,? said Mason Horne of the CBC offense. ?We were able to capitalize on a few things at the plate and Mike (Ehrhard) was able to take advantage.?
