Oakton Community College bolstered its strong recruiting class with the commitment of Morton West RHP Jeremy Wilson. Wilson, who features an 85-88 mph fastball and a sharp slider, has been a three-year standout at the Cicero school. Wilson joins Naperville North RHP Kyle Klosak, Geneva RHP Riley Perry and Plainfield Central RHP/MIF Derek DeYoung as part of the Raiders’ recruiting class.

Oakton also received commitments from Whitney Young 1B John Schreiber, Rockton Hononegah C/1B Justin Blevins, Prospect LHP Jack Mullenix, Hinsdale South LHP/OF Matt Perez, Hampshire OF Ron Laramie, De La Salle RHP Michael Spalla, Mount Carmel MIF Richie Zuniga, and Von Steuben OF Michael Sanchez.

Illinois Wesleyan added four more prospects to its recruiting class. Jon Erickson, a left-handed hitting 2B who is enjoying a big year at St. Charles East HS this season, has committed to Illinois Wesleyan. Other Illinois Wesleyan recruits include: Stagg RHP Matt Conrad, Prospect INF/OF Ed Gerdes and Notre Dame LHP Phil Kerber.

Angelo Burrage, who was a three-year standout at St. Rita, is transferring from Illinois State. The left-handed hitting OF/1B, who just completed his freshman year, will be heading to St. Joseph’s College.

Jeffrey Paulson, a hard-hitting 1B from Plainfield North HS, has committed to North Park University.

Roosevelt University has received several commitments. Recruits coming from Prairie State College include: 1B Adam Nykiel (Andrew HS), OF Joey Malia (Peotone HS), OF Dave Plocharczyk (Shepard HS), INF Matt Borger (Homewood-Flossmoor HS), and 2B Tim Storrs (Shepard HS). … C Ernesto Irizarry, who played at Joliet JC and Romeoville HS, is also headed to Roosevelt, along with Buffalo Grove 2B Brian Crowell and Jacobs 3B Brandon Richman.

Cody Litwiller, a junior left-handed hitting 1B from Eureka HS, has committed to Lincoln College. The 5-foot-10 Litweller is enjoying a big junior campaign, batting .444 with 44 hits in 99 ABs with 8 HR, 32 RBI, 12 doubles, 2 triples, and has walked 22 times.

Scott Sutton, a MIF from Glenbrook North HS, has committed to Butler University.

Teddy Heiser, a left-handed hitting 2B/OF from Stevenson HS, has committed to University of Illinois-Springfield.

Stevo Kraynak, a SS from Hinsdale Central HS, has committed to Carthage.

Mac Simotes has committed to Western Illinois. Simotes started at SS as a sophomore at Minooka before he moved to Michigan.
