Ryan Hinchley, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound LHP from York HS, has committed to the University of Illinois-Chicago. As a junior, Hinchley had committed to the University of Kentucky, but re-opened his recruitment after the summer. Hinchley has been more than impressive this spring, with his fastball showing 87-88 mph velocity, touching 90 ? which is what he showed as a junior at a PBR event.

 

McHenry County College landed a pair of prospects. Chase Matheson, a SS from McHenry HS, had earlier committed to Northern Illinois, is now committed to MCC. Also, Carlos Alvarez, a four-year starting OF from Huntley HS, has committed to MCC. Alvarez helped Huntley to a fourth-place finish in Class 4A last year.

 

Black Hawk JC has received commitments from RHP Jake Johnson (Orion HS), RHP/C Kurt Donner (Prospect HS) and MIF Zach Davis (Riverdale HS).

 

Edgewood College has received commitments from MIF Jake Thome (St. Rita HS), OF Pat Manning (Streamwood HS) and RHP Nick Manetti (Plainfield South HS).

 

Jeff Guzzi, a LHP from Sandburg HS, has committed to Elmhurst College.

 

Tim Farina, a MIF from Fremd HS, has committed to Illinois College.

 

Richie Santarelli, a MIF from Chicago Christian HS, has committed to Concordia University.
