MIF James Obaldo (Fenwick, 2027) came away from this event as one of its’ biggest winners, showing out as one of the top freshman prospects in attendance. Obaldo showed plenty of moxy and rhythm at the plate, finding the barrel consistently from a fluid right-handed swing that worked to all fields. His biggest asset may be defensively, where Obaldo has natural up-the-middle actions with footwork feel and an innate confidence in his glovework.

Body: 5-5, 140-pounds. Compact frame with strength.
Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, hands load in rhythm, toe-tap trigger. Loose easy hands, short path, works uphill and gap-to-gap through the zone. On the barrel throughout, repeats. 63.4 mph bat speed with 9 G’s of rotational acceleration.

Arm: RH. INF - 80 mph. Short, quick arm action, 3/4 slot.
Defense: Athletic, fluid footwork, two-hand gather out front, moves well to both sides.

Body: 5-4, 130-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Tall setup, open stance, loads hands back, leg lift into balance point, intent full swing, pull-side approach. Quick hands, flat path, whippy through the zone, intent to lift the baseball.
