5/25/13 - SIU-Edwardsville recruit, currently ranked No. 75 in Illinois’ 2013 class. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Miller has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the state this year, and Saturday may have been his opus. The right-hander pitched all nine innings, allowing five hits and no runs. He struck out six and walked one. His fastball sat in the 82-83 mph range, topping at 86. He also threw his curveball and changeup consistently for strikes. He was in control all game. Only trouble came in a fourth-inning double from Kevin Mampe, who never scored. Utilized his breaking ball majority of the time deeper into the game.
7.7.12 The 6-foot-1 right-hander was the primary reason the Phoenix were one of the top teams in the state. As the staff ace, Miller notched a 9-1 record against the teams's toughest competition. The junior finished with a 1.26 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 72 innings.
