7/24/18: Big physical 2022 LHP/1B hits from the left side. Uses crouched setup in the box. Strong wrists and hands through swing. Showed good bat speed during BP and posted an exit velo of 84. Bat path is level through the zone with a high finish. Showed good upside on the mound. Pitches from high ¾ arm slot. Tall to balance point then drop and drive to the plate. Stays in line throughout delivery. Finishes in athletic position. FB sat 78-81 T82 and showed ability to command it to either side of the plate. Showed 1/7 shape CB that he tended to slow down his arm at times. Did land the CB for strikes in game. Nice upside 2022 to follow.
2/24/18: 6-foot-3, 210 pound physical framed first baseman features potential plus power from the left side. Slightly closed, balanced setup. Quick barrel turn. Long, uphill path to contact. Partial use of lower half. Defensively, above average hands with some feel for the bag. Long arm action, throws topped 72 across. On the mound, fastball sat 77-79 with slight run. Commands well to his arm side. Short arm action, 3/4 slot. Some effort down the mound, rushed at times. Stays in line, lands square. Off-speed needs developed. Should continue to add velocity and clean up movements. High ceiling both on the mound and in the batter's box.
2017 Junior Future Games - Tall, lanky, physical frame, two-way prospect. On the mound, left-handed, athletic arm action, ¾ slot, works towards first base. Uses a high leg kick and slide step, mixes both in, balances well. Fastball, arm side run, 76-78 mph. Curveball, 2/8 shape, 62-64 mph. Offensively, left-handed hitter, balanced setup, makes hard contact, gap-to-gap hitter. Hit two triples on Saturday, totaling three RBIs in the two at-bats.
