1/24/19 Pitching
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic, projectable frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Athletic delivery he can repeat. Delivery doesn’t require much effort. Arm is loose with slinging action through a ¾ slot.
Fastball: 74-77 mph. Ball comes out with some lift, appearing heavier than velo suggest. Pitch plays up velocity wise due to heavy arm side action.
Slider: 65-67 mph. Tight pitch with late, horizontal action. More than enough depth and action to miss barrels.
Changeup: 69-71 mph. Maintains arm speed on the offering that has similar action to the fastball. Could be a well above average offering if he can consistently locate it. Impressive stuff wise.
Pitchability: Fastball/slider were regularly in the zone with changeup being in/out.
Role: Tweener guy with a lean towards starter. Doesn’t throw anything straight.
2/14/18
A projectable frame at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. A young arm prospect to keep an eye on in the 2020 class. Delivery is athletic with good tempo. Ball comes out well without a ton of effort. Fastball comes through a near ¾ slot sitting 78-80 mph. The pitch is heavy and mostly true through the zone. The 11/5 shaped breaking ball is sharp with developing depth at 61-64 mph. Does a nice job of maintaining arm speed on the his 70-72 mph changeup that has run and dive to it. Did a nice job of staying in the zone throughout his outing. Far from his ceiling physically and he should have some more mphs in there as he adds strength.
