6.4.18 Drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 1st round, 29th overall.
5.30.18 Naylor has answered expectations this spring versus professional pitchers with the National Team and in club ball play. The approach is polished with pop and bat speed and should feature more in game power as he matures, the actions defensively are there behind the plate but will still need to improve as many high school catchers do, and he's athletic enough where he can play left side of the infield at a high level. Naylor looks to be an early selection this June and can't see him getting into the 2nd round at the moment.
5.11.17 Cold and rainy day this year, Naylor still put up numbers we are used to seeing as he ran a 6.84 sixty and a 1.87 pop time behind the dish. The transfer to and from glove is quick and throws had life out the hand and did so under control in lower half with a quick arm out front. Feet stay underneath him, hands receive but can still continue to develop. Above average defender in the infield as well. Smooth actions and shows his athleticism, arm is quick and easy with all kinds of life. Didn't get much to hit in game, lots of off-speed and showed patience but still attacked good pitches in the zone. Rhythm to swing, free and easy with barrel awareness. Generates bat speed and backspin's the baseball. Will snap hook a few at times but Naylor is more hit than power but the power has good chance to come at 5-foot-11, 190-pounds. The Texas A&M commit will be a potential early pick in 2018 with the jury still out on whether it is behind the dish or in the infield. 60 Yard Dash: 6.84 Pop Time: 1.87 C Velocity: 81 Exit Velocity: 94 INF Velocity: 84
2.20.17 Naylor seems to have polished skills behind the plate. Very relaxed and when catching pens, easy actions and soft hands, squared up everything in the dirt and kept in front. Was a 1.80 on pop times to second indoors, electric arm, extremely quick feet and transfer, very impressive. The bat was typical Naylor, rhythm and balance to swing, proper use of lower half, bat stayed through zone with extension and loud contact, the total package.
5.4.16 Naylor is physical and athletic, ran a 7.02 with regular effort, impressive bat speed and pitch recognition, barrelled up balls in game, turning on 90 mph fastball, power is there with more to come with hitterish attributes, 94 mph exit velocity exhibits strength. Quick transfer and footwork behind the plate with arm strength, online carry, ball jumped out hand, popped few 1.91 and 1.93 on the bag. Big time national prospect. 60 Yard Dash: 7.02 Pop Time: 1.91 C Velocity: 81 Exit Velocity: 94
11.26.15 Young 2018 grad with lots of potential. Swings it from the left side with bat speed and strength. Hands in good position to hit with small load and average stride. Incorporates lower half well, gets extended out front while staying balanced. Power threat right now, still can go other way and produce hard contact. Very polished for age, see's to see the ball real well and recognizes off speed and understanding strike zone. In the infield, demonstrates relaxed hands in the infield, proper footwork and attacks ball. Arm is clean with transfer, shows carry across the diamond, arm can play on left side of the infield. Polished player with baseball I.Q., younger brother of Marlins first round pick Josh.
