The big, square-shouldered right-hander ran his fastball up to 90 mph with more 85-87 present throughout the outing on a steamy, Houston afternoon. At 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, Tucker stands high atop the rubber with an imposing frame that will likely continue to add strength moving forward. Releasing out of a ¾ slot, he strides noticeably open to the plate with some effort out front. Tucker’s feel for his breaking ball stood out as he manipulated the shape at times while throwing it mostly in the 71-74 range. It showed tight, slider-type break at times, and he was able to control it in and out of the zone. Other times, it appeared to be more of a slurve-type pitch with a bit more depth to the break. More of a thrower right now, Tucker looks like he may throw much harder in the future, and as he continues to become more polished, he may quickly become one of the better arms in Texas.
