7/31/14: 5-foot-11, 215 pound, 1B/3B, hit from a strong balanced position. Marte had good rhythm and a high hand position. He ended up with a slightly closed stride that caused him to spin on the lower half at times. His hand path was direct to the baseball and he showed a smooth, line drive stroke with bat speed (82 mph exit velocity). In the field, Marte sat back on the ball at times not allowing him to gain momentum on his throws. Showed average feet and hands in the field. Threw from a loose, high 3/4 arm slot that was very smooth.
