As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

Head Coach Jason Dorshorst and the Morgan Township Cherokees are coming off back to back sectional championships in 2012 and 2013.  Last season they finished 18-10 overall with a 3-4 record in Porter County conference play.  Dorshorst's team loses four seniors to graduation, but does retain a large class of sophomores, five of which lettered as freshman. Senior Will Swisher returns as a key contributor offensively.  As a Junior the 1B hit .355 with 16 RBI and 23 Runs.  Sophomore Jake Koselke leads a talented group of sophomores.  The 6-foot-2 RHP/C hit .375 with 25 RBI and 4 HR as a freshman and was 2-0 on the mound with a 3.06 ERA.  Other key contributors for the Cherokees in 2014 are sophomores Connor Martin and Nick Conner. Morgan Township should be competitive throughout the year as they look to three-peat as sectionals champions.
