As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

The Rochester Zebras and head coach Brian Hooker expect to compete for a Three Rivers Conference championship in 2014.  The Zebras return 9 starters and 4 arms from last year's team that finished .500 overall at 13-13 and were 3-4 in TRC play.  First team All-TRC and 2013 MVP Tanner Hampton returns to the Zebras for his senior year.  The 5-foot-9, 170 pound catcher hit .375 in 2013.  Another 1st Team TRC member, Andrew Feldman, will lead things on the mound for Rochester.  The 5-foot-10, 170 pound RHP finished his sophomore year with a 1.75 ERA.  Freshman SS Alec Holland earned 1st team TRC honors as a freshman after hitting .420, while 2nd team TRC member Carter Screeton, a 5-foot-8, 165 pound 2B, returns after hitting .290 last season.  Senior RHP Cyrus Holland is expected to give the Zebras quality innings this spring.  The 6-foot, 180 pound righty went 4-4 last spring with a 3.15 ERA.  Rochester should compete with Tippecanoe Valley and last year's 2A State Runner-Up Northfield for the Three Rivers Conference championship.
