X-FACTOR
Jordan Dingman. During his junior campaign Dingman hit.419, slugged at a .689 clip and was among the team leaders in innings pitched. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Dingman gives the Grizzlies a proven left-handed bat in their line-up that can also play multiple positions defensively.
KEY PLAYER LOST
Jared Gates, SS, 2014. The left-hand hitting shortstop was a driving force in Northwest’s state tournament runs the past two seasons. He was named 6A Player of the Year as a junior and hit .424 last spring.
2015 OUTLOOK:
Northwest’s senior class has racked up its share of individual accolades but as a group they know how to win when it matters the most, having contributed to back-to-back 6A state tournament appearances. The seniors include a trio of two-way players in 3B/OF/RHP Jordan Dingman, SS/RHP Will Clark and 1B/RHP Josh Jones. In addition, Brendan Johnson will once again man centerfield and 2B Dylan Gates returns after hitting .345 as a junior.
