Top Prospects 2017 Hitting
Allen physicality and offensive prowess, allowed compete right away at Little Rock Christian Academy last spring. He platooned, was their DH and played some 1st and 3rd at times. The Warriors, made noise in the state tournament defeating 5A favorite Watson Chapel. They fell in the semi-finals to eventual champions Vilonia High School.
His experience in the spring played dividends quickly as Allen, put together an impressive summer for the East Coast Sox. He also showed very well at the Top Prospects in Fayetteville as he launched balls out of the ballpark during batting practice. His recruiting process picked up quickly toward the end of the summer. In the end Allen chose TCU with multiple power 5 offers.
Moving forward with Allen, it will be intriguing to see if he can translate his offensive abilities to consistent on field production, and finds a defensive home. He is athletic enough to play any corner position on the field.

Scouting Report
Allen is a 6-foot-1 190-pound infielder with a large frame and physical build. Offensively he starts from an athletic stance, he uses a leg lift as his load stride timing mechanism. He attacks the baseball with fast bat speed with a slight uphill swing. He shows a feel for the barrel and raw power to the pull side. He produces exit velocity up to 92 mph. Defensively he plays through the baseball with some stiffness to his actions. He uses a short arm action from a low ¾ arm slot to throw the baseball accurately across the infield. Overall Allen is a physical player with advanced offensive tools, he is a name to follow in the 2020 class.
