2019 UIL Team Preview - Cedar Hill

Colter Bostick
PBR Texas Scout

The Texas high school season kicks off on February 21, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 25, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. If you don’t see your team’s season preview make sure your head coach fills out his Preseason Questionnaire.

SEASON PREVIEW

CEDAR HILL – Coach Jackson’s lineup is stout on both sides of the ball, making it easy for expectations of repeating and building off of 2018’s success to be high.

Seniors Kayden Berkof (RHP/1B), Thomas Dominguez (RHP), and Kamdyn Benjamin (OF) are leading the charge after all three earned 1st team All-District honors last season. Juniors Anthony Castandea (catcher), Tony Gonzalez (RHP/SS) earned 2nd team All-District and Michael Garibay (UTL) was Honorable Mention. Junior UTL Ethan Magdaelno missed the 2018 season due to an injury, but will be returning in force. The team will look for big contributions for sophomores Chrisitian Jarmon (RHP/3B), Daelin Rader (UTL), and freshman Tavion Vaughns (OF/RHP).
