2023 PBR All-American Game, Spotlight: Tomas Valincius

On Saturday, Sept. 23, Prep Baseball Report is hosting its inaugural High School All-American Game at American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. The unique event will feature the nation’s top high school seniors who are set to battle against a roster of the country’s best juniors in Class of 2024 vs. Class of 2025 action, giving pro scouts a unique look at current and future draft classes.

We’ve begun to unveil the event’s participants on our social media channels, and we’ll spotlight those players more closely on our site, too, highlighting past performances and scouting reports from the live looks we’ve gathered on this gifted group throughout the years.

We are highlighting Tomas Valincius, a Virginia commit and the top-ranked pitcher in Tennessee's senior class. Originally from Illinois, the southpaw relocated and has had a phenomenal prep career thus far. Valincius has run his fastball up to 93 mph on the PBR Tournament circuit this past summer, and lives consistently in the low-90s. He has shown high level pitchability with a true three-pitch-mix that he can land for strikes. Following a strong summer campaign, Valincius heads to Milwaukee later this month.

PBR's Director of College Scouting David Seifert had this to say about the Virginia recruit following his outing at last month's East Coast Pro: "Valincius was dominant, pitching three scoreless frames as just one runner reached base. The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder struck out three, a result of high level pitchability, spotting three pitches for strikes. His tailing fastball sat 90-91 mph and he reversed that horizontal movement with a quality 80-82 slider, and then subtracted with a low-80s changeup. The lefty doesn’t have a ton of physical projection, but what he already has looks pretty good and will play immediately at any college level."
