Scouting Report

Report: Lenihan is a highly projectable body with one of the top power ceilings in the province. As he continues to grow into his body and develop strength, he will fill into a powerful bat with the potential to turn heads in the future. He has seen time all around the infield, and with growing athleticism could see himself as a third basemen, though his height and defensive footwork reflects more of a first basemen’s toolbox.

Lenihan’s swing has a great foundation, as he matches plane well deep in the zone, however, gives himself a hard time with his forward move as he is very timing dependant in his stride. With strength and athleticism his adjustability will become more accessible but mechanical changes are needed with his stride to enable him to adjust to different speeds and locations. His power is no joke and he turns behind high pitches well which could translate to some deep flies in his grade 12 year. It will be interesting to see what kind of adjustments we see from Lenihan this summer to try and maximize his contact rate to compliment his power. Should be a high OPS summer for Lenihan, keep an eye out.
