Ben Davis vs Lawrence Central



Indianapolis-- On a windy Wednesday night the Ben Davis Giants hosted Lawrence Central. Josh Turpin got the start for the Giants. Turpin is an unsigned 2012 with good pitchability. Tupin sits 80-81 and shows a good change up with run. On the mound for the Bears was Dayton commit, Glenn Jones. Glenn sat 83-85 showed two offspead pitches that could both be plus pitches once he develops a little more consistency. 

The Bears struck first in the top 2nd. Jaylen Quarles (2012) led off with a single followed by a John Jones single.  Matt Greenwell (2013) picked up an RBi ground out to score Quarles to make the score 1-0.  in the bottom of the second, Jones had to work out of trouble. he loaded the bases full of miscues defensively or walks. Drake Duncan, a Galveston JC commit, coming to plate with one out. Duncan was limited to a pop out. Jones then got Evansville commit Eric McKibban to ground out.

In the third,  the Giants broke open the game. Rhodes, an unsigned senior, led off with hard line drive down the line for a single. Rhodes then advance on two LC errors. Tony Greenan singled home Rhodes to make the score 1-1. The Bears would continue to hurt themselves with defensive errors, and passed balls. Duncan picked up an RBi single in the third and McKibban walked with the bases loaded to plate a run. Making the score at the end of 3 5-1. That was all the Giants and Turpin would need to defeat the Bears. The final score was 6-3.
