Bishop Foley Senior Garrett Schilling Career Pitching Record Stands at 35-0

Garrett Schilling 2014, RHP, Bishop Foley HS

Garrett Schilling knows to be confident in himself and to trust his pitching abilities as he has in the past, after all, he has been a perfect 35-0 in his Bishop Foley career. His team has never lost a game when he is pitching on the mound. Bishop Foley has also been a 3 time state champion since Garrett has joined the club. The team is determined to win a 4th title with 14 seniors on the roster this season and one of the most dominant pitchers in Michigan history on his team. Schilling

The Xavier commit stands at 6’0 160 is far from an intimidating presence but has a competitive fire on the mound and an uncanny ability to pitch. His fastball is between 84-88 in a project-able delivery and arm action and has a good 12-6 curve-ball that he throws with strikes as well as a change-up that is improving, and split finger.

When speaking with him recently, Garrett said that he enjoys working with Coach Buster Sunde and got him to buy into his pitching abilities. He also believes that he out works anyone on or off the field and what fuels his competitive fire and abilities. Garrett has worked with Justin Robinson, a pitching instructor and coach with the South Oakland A’s since he was 11 and also credits him with his success.

He felt that Xavier was the right fit for him with the program recently moving to the Big East conference. He will be studying business and is unsure exactly what he wants to do within business.

The career win record for pitchers in high school baseball in Michigan is 42. Garrett was recently hit in the face by a line drive and his timetable to return is undetermined at this time.  We wish him the best of luck with a speedy recovery.
