With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: Bishop Hartley Hawks

2019 Team Strengths:

Coach Outlook: "We want to be at our best when the tournament starts. Our guys are working really hard right now, so we will build our team on that."

PBR Outlook: A 20-win campaign in 2018 and eight returning starters has the Hawks and coach Christopher Sawyer hungry for the 2019 season. Look for Bishop Hartley to be a team to watch all year long in Division II.

  • Adam McVicker, OF/P/1st Base, 6-0 175 (L/L)---Last Year stats---.300 AVG. (6 Doubles, 2 Home runs)
  • Jacob Culbertson, LHP 2019 5-10 220---Last Year ---7-1 Record (2-0 in tournament and had ERA 0.00 in Tournament)
  • Mason Sawyer, Catcher 2020, 6-0 195, (R/R) Last Year Stats--.430 AVG. Half of his hits (14/27) were for extra bases. (12 doubles and 2 home-runs)---2nd Team All-District--2nd Team PBR All-Ohio
