With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Canal Fulton Northwest Indians

Team Name: Canal Fulton Northwest Indians
Head Coach: Dave Maculaitis
Division: II
2017 Record: 14-12
Conference Record: Principals Athletic Conference – Independent Last Year
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/3

2018 Team Strengths:

Coach Outlook: "We are looking forward to a strong season this year. We finished District Runner-Up to eventual state champions Tallmadge last year, and we feel with who we have coming back and a strong group of underclassmen, we can be right there once again at the end of the season. Being in a league for the first time in 8 years has brought more excitement to the program. Playing a more consistent schedule will be a big help.”

PBR Outlook: Coach Maculaitis and the Indians are in a conference, Principals Athletic Conference, for the first time in eight years. With the amount of players returning at almost all positions, look for the Indians to compete in the PAC in 2018 with an eye at a nice run come tournament time.
