Cangelosi High School Fall League - Week 2

Varsity: Blue vs. Silver

Game 1:

BLUE – 6
SILVER – 0

In a very one-sided game, BLUE team pitchers Camden Baumberger (Olentangy Liberty) and Nicholas Falter (Olentangy Liberty) both put together solid outings. Baumberger struck out 6 in 4 innings pitched, while Falter struck out 4 in 3 innings pitched. BLUE team infielder Patrick Custer (Hilliard Bradley) had a great game, collecting 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s. Jackson Buty (Hilliard Darby) also had a two hits, one of them being a double.

Game 2:

SILVER – 15
BLUE – 5

In game 2, the SILVER team’s Ryan Byerly (Johnstown Monroe) was locked in, going 4-4 with a double. Both Derek Levan (Benjamin Logan) and Ian Stacey (Newark Catholic) each racked up 3 hits. Other players that collected hits for the SILVER team include Nick Lapham (Dublin Jerome), Ben Stevens (Canal Winchester), Benjamin Brewster (Olentangy), Derek Foe (Johnstown Monroe), Dean Belinger (Olentangy Orange) and Clayton Taylor (Delaware Hayes). Foe and Levan each collected 3 RBI’s as well. For the BLUE squad, Nicholas Falter (Olentangy Liberty) and Evan Thompson (Dublin Coffman) each had two hits and an RBI.

Varsity: RED vs. BLack

Game 1:

RED – 6
BLACK – 0

BLACK team pitcher Philip Lockwood (Tri-County North) racked up 5 strikeouts in 4 innings pitched. Alex Spohn (Grove City), Jacob Krous (Big Walnut), Jaxon Snyder (Mt. Vernon) and Noah Gleason (Mt. Vernon) each collected hits for the BLACK team. RED team pitcher Jake Woolf (Beavercreek) put together a nice outing, striking out 3 hitters in 3 innings pitched.

Game 2:

RED – 8
BLACK – 6

In a very back-and-forth game, the RED team came out on top. Pitcher Mike Sokol (New Albany) tossed 4 strong innings, racking up 5 strikeouts. Ethan Hetzel (Dublin Coffman) ended the day with 3 hits, one of them being a double. For the BLACK team, Ohio Dominican commit, David Silva (Ostego) collected two hits: a single and a triple. Outfielder Luke Barnhart (Grove City) also collected two hits and an RBI.
