Cangelosi High School Fall League Recap - Week 1
Varsity: BLUE vs. BLACK
Game 1:
BLUE – 4
BLACK – 6
Despite giving up two runs in the third inning, Garrett Hardy (Grove City) pitched a solid four innings for the Blue squad. Jared Babcock (Pickerington Central) went 2-4 with a huge double in the first inning. On the flip side, Dakota DeStefano (Upper Arlington) had a 2-RBI triple in the third inning, while Brandon Kline (Canon-McMillan, PA) hit a 3-run inside-the-park homerun to nail down the win for the Black team.
Game 2:
BLACK – 8
BLUE – 4
Solid pitching helped the Black team take game two of the doubleheader. Jacob Conrad (Amelia) relieved Brandon Kline (Canon-McMillan, PA) for the Black team in the 4th inning, giving up just a single run in three innings of relief. Luke Barnhart (Grove City) ended the day 3-5 with a double.
Varsity: RED vs. SILVER
Game 1:
RED – 4
SILVER – 5
Philip Lockwood (Tri-County North) pitched a solid game for the Silver team, giving up just two runs in five innings of work. Owen Rose (Olentangy Liberty) blasted a 2-RBI triple into the right-center gap to nail down the win for the Silver team in game one.
Game 2:
SILVER – 3
RED – 13
The Red team dominated game two. Matthew Fullen (Pickerington Central) went 3-3 with an RBI. Eero Perkola (Dakota, MI) went 2-3 with two doubles while driving in four runs.
