With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: Central Crossing Comets

Team Name: Central Crossing Comets

2018 Record: 10-13
Conference Record: Ohio Capital Conference Central Division, 5-10
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 9/6

2019 Team Strengths:

Coach Outlook: "Most of these players have been starting on Varsity since their freshman and sophomore years. A very seasoned group who has the potential to compete at a high level.  Has the possibility to have one of the better seasons in school history."

PBR Outlook: The experience is there for the Comets and coach Scott Todd. With nine starters returning, look for Central Crossing to be competitive in all games with a chance to make a name for themselves come tournament time.

  • JJ Carr, INF/P, 2019, 6'2"/210, R/R; Stats: .317 Avg.,9 2B, 16 RBI's, 12 Runs. Pitching:  4-4, 27 K's, 3.24 ERA. Salem University recruit (D2). Honorable Mention All-OCC
  • Mannee Wells, INF/OF, 5'9"/165, R/R; Stats: .273 Avg., 5 2B, 1 3B, 10 RBI's, 17 Runs, 10 SB. Northwestern, OH recruit (NAIA). 
  • Austin Woods, C/INF/P, 2019, 5'9", 155, R/R; Stats: .405 Avg., 18 RBI's, 17 Runs, 12 SB; Pitching: 1-2, 1 SV, 12 K's, 3.00 ERA. 1st team All-OCC and 1st Team All-District.
  • Matt Reed, INF, 2020, 5'7/145, R/R; Stats: .325 Avg., 16 Runs 9 SB, 2B, 7 RBI's. 2nd team All-OCC.
  • Drew DeYarmon, INF/OF,  5'9/ 160, R/R; Stats: 15 RBI's, 13 Runs.
  • Nash Baker, INF/OF/P, 5'9/155, R/R; Stats: 5 2B, 8 RBI's, 9 Runs, 8 SB's, .283 Avg., Pitching: 1-1, 11 K's
