Chicagoland Open: Top Overall Prospects

On Aug. 25, the PBR Illinois team visited Triton College in River Grove, Ill., to host its annual Chicagoland Open showcase – a late summer event that perennially produces high-level prospects to continue to follow.

Today, we’re wrapping up our position-by-position analysis by ranking the day’s 10 best prospects, regardless of class or position, after detailing the day’s catchersoutfieldersinfielders, and pitchers earlier in the week.

One thing to note on the 10 names below, we limited the set to high school prospects, though the 2024 grad, C/RHP Angel Jimenez (Disney II Magnet), has certainly done enough to warrant attention inside his class. As we start to gather intel on our ‘24 class, Jimenez has made sure that his name is circled as one to follow. So, you won’t see his name ranked below, but he was among the more talented prospects at this open event.
