We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ohio’s Cincinnati Preseason Underclass Showcase. This was a great opportunity for 2016, '17 and '18 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories. 

In the coming weeks, we will be adding and updating profiles for each of the players in attendance, including complete analysis and video.

AJ Petersen, SS/2B, Lakota West, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-6, 135-pound small, athletic build. From the infield he shows some quick twitch actions and decent range for his age. He tends to field the ball into his body with 75 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter with good rhythm in his swing, but gets heavy on his front foot. Occasionally drops his hands, but has a flat bat path with 75 mph exit velocity.

Austin Becker, SS/RHP, Big Walnut, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot-4, 170-pound long, lanky projectable frame. The two-way prospect shows advance skills for his age. From the infield he projects as a 3B type right now for his age. Has a live arm from a high-¾ slot with 71 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts open and lands slightly closed. Has slightly long swing with good finish and top exit velocity of 82 mph. Ran a 4.88 home to first. On the mound the righties best years are still yet to come. He has an easy, tempo delivery that closes himself off which causes him to miss arm side. Easy arm action from a high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 77-81 mph. Showed a changeup with good feel and arm-side run at 71-74 mph.

Brennan Gick, OF/2B, Summit, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 155-pound projectable frame. From the outfield he needs more of a crow hop to create momentum on his throw. Throws from a ¾ slot with 74 mph arm strength. Left-handed hitter with a good set up. Balanced with good rhythm and a short, compact swing. Registered top exit velocity of 71 mph and was 4.55 home to first.

Cade Spikes, RHP/SS, Loveland, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 170-pound average build. From the infield he shows above average hands for his age. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 76 mph arm strength and good accuracy. Switch-hitter that shows the capability to hit from either side. From the right-side he has a spread out stance  with good balance. Flat path with 81 mph exit velocity. He is slightly more advanced from the left side. Shows good balance and power to pull side with 78 mph exit velocity. Ran a 4.71 home to first from the left side. On the mound the righty show a repeatable delivery with good direction. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 75-78 mph with occasional run to it. He shows good command of his breaking ball at 62-69 mph with good depth and late 11/5 tilt. His changeup showed good arm action at 71-74 mph with good fade.

Chase Gorman, 2B/OF, Dublin Jerome, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-8, 160-pound athletic build. From the infield he projects as a second base type right now. Has a long exchange with 70 mph arm strength across the diamond with good accuracy. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Stands tall that gets heavy on his front foot on his stride. Shows good ability to go the other way for his age with 78 mph exit velocity. Ran 4.51 home to first.

Cole Andrews, C/3B, Bishop Watterson, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 155-pound solid build. From the crouch he needs to get more in line with his footwork, but shows a good, quick exchange. From a short, high-¾ slot his pop times ranged between 2.19 and 2.27 with 73 mph arm strength down to second. Right-handed hitter that starts standing up and way open. High hands and gets to closed. Good rhythm in his hands. Swing is flat and quick with top exit velocity of 80 mph and ran 4.7 home to first.

Colin Crowe, OF, Mason, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 160-pound athletic build and advanced skills for his age. From the outfield he attacks the baseball. Throws from a long, ¾ slot and has tendency to open his front side with 77 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Has long stride with short, compact swing which gets in and out of the zone. Will utilize his speed being a 4.16 home to first and registered top exit velocity of 83 mph.

Connor Gerren, OF/RHP, Big Walnut, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 175-pound projectable frame. From the outfield does a good job playing through the baseball. Long exchange, that comes over top with 78 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that starts his hands high. No stride with good load and quick hands registering top exit velocity of 71 mph and ran 4.44 down the line. On the mound the righty cuts himself off a little from his short stride with some effort in his delivery. From over top his fastball sits 76-79 mph and drops down to 72 out of the stretch. Throws a loopy breaking ball at 61 mph with some depth and throws a change at 60 mph complemented by a fork ball at 64-69 mph which was a little erratic.

Devon Lee, OF, Gahanna Lincoln, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 185-pound athletic build. From the outfield he fields the ball in front of his body like an infielder. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot with 76 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that stands tall with a little kick to load. High hands that keeps his weight on back leg. Flat path with top exit velocity of 78 mph and ran a 4.4 down the line.

Draven Harris, C/3B, Piketon, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-6, 150-pound build. From behind the plate he shows good exchange and good accuracy on his throws. Once he gets stronger his pop time will go down from 2.32-2.53. Showed 62 mph arm strength home to second. Right-handed hitter that starts from a still stance with knees bent. Hands start high with a short, compact swing and 67 mph exit velocity. Ran a 4.78 home to first.

Jake Tewart, SS/OF, Lebanon, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 160-pound athletic build. From the infield he is aggressive attacking the baseball and shows decent range for his age. Throws from a high-¾  with 74 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts spread out. Has some rhythm in his in his set up with an uphill swing and good rotation. Registered top exit velocity of 69 mph and ran 4.47 home to first.

Kadeen Beermann, SS/2B, Monroe, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 145-pound average build. From the infield he really takes good routes to the baseball and shows solid actions for his age. Throws from a short, ¾ slot with 70 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that gets a little heavy on his front foot. Has a short, compact swing with a flat path. Registered top exit velocity of 76 mph and ran a 4.58 home to first.

Koby Schmidt, C/3B, Edgewood, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 181-pound average build. From behind the plate he sits down with a wide frame. He needs to quicken up his footwork to get his feet in line for his throw. Throws from a high-¾ slot with pop times of 2.31-2.41 and 66 mph arm strength. From the infield he projects as a 3B type that plays on his heels and throws from a long arm action with 64 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter with no stride and has his hands far from his body. Swing gets a little long with an impressive exit velocity for his age at 84 mph and ran 4.57 home to first.

Mitch Reardon, LHP/OF, Lakota East, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 130-pound skinny, projectable from. From the outfield he does a good job playing through the baseball with a clean exchange. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 71 mph arm strength. Left-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Uses a good load and flat path that stays in the hitting zone. Registered top exit velocity of 68 mph and ran 4.36 home to first. On the mound the southpaw shows a repeatable delivery with little effort. Throws from a high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 66-67 mph with some cut. Throws a breaking ball at 58-60 mph with good 2/8 tilt and showcased a hard changeup at 63-64 mph with some cut to it.

Mitchell Davis, 3B/RHP, Batavia, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-7, 156-pound strong, stocky build. From the infield he stops his feet and fields the ball out in front of his body. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot that winds up before his throw and showed 81 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that sits down in his legs and shows some strength in his flat swing. Has quick hands for his age with 80 mph exit velocity and ran 4.76 home to first.

Nick Northcut, RHP/3B, Mason, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 209-pound solid build. This young two-way prospect will start getting attention after his performance. On the mound the righty has a quick tempo delivery with strong lower-½. Throws from a loose, high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting 84-85 mph. Shows two different breaking balls. His curveball is slower with a big 11/5 break at 65-68 mph. His slider is a lot harder with later break at 76-78 mph. Really showed a solid changeup at 70-73 mph with good life and some sink. From the infield he projects as a third base type. Shows soft hands and a clean exchange especially for his age. Throws from a easy ¾ slot with 81 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that shows good balance from a spread out stance. Has quick hands and shows a lot of power for his age. Registered an impressive and showcase best exit velocity of 90 mph and ran a 4.79 home to first. Will be interesting to see how he progresses.

Reed Naglich, C/OF, St. Xavier, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 175-pound solid build. From behind the plate he uses a wide frame. Doesn’t get his feet in line for his throw. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot with pop times ranging between 2.2-2.37 with 71 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that doesn’t stride and very still. Stiff lower-½ with short, compact swing with quick hands and top exit velocity of 80 mph. Ran 4.57 home to first.

Sam Wirsing, RHP/1B, Madeira, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot-4, 190-pound lanky, projectable frame. On the mound the righty has simple delivery that he is able to repeat. Has good direction at foot strike and throws from a high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting 76-79 mph and located it at the bottom of the zone. Shows a breaking ball with slurvy, gradual 11/5 break at 67-69 mph. His mixed in a changeup at 67 mph with good arm speed.

Samuel Scott, RHP/3B, Oak Hills, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 167-pound athletic build. On the mound shows little effort in his delivery that he is able to repeat. Throws from an quick, high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting 77-80 mph with some sink and good command. Has tendency to slow down on his breaking ball at 62-66 mph with 11/5 break. Showcased a solid changeup at 68-69 mph with good sink.

Stephen Krause, RHP/SS, Wilmington, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot-3, 215-pound projectable build. From the infield he projects as a 3B type right now for his age. Shows limited range and throws from a ¾ slot with some life in his arm. Right-handed hitter that uses a leg kick to load and dives in the ball. Shows strength and power to the pull side with 83 mph exit velocity and ran 4.71 home to first. On the mound he lands closed and throws across his body. Throws from a long, high-¾ slot with his fastball sits 80-82 mph with occasional run. If he can get in line his command of all three pitches will improve. Shows a breaking ball with 11/5 tilt at 69-72 mph and his second best pitch is his changeup with good arm speed at 73-75 mph

Talon Osborne, RHP, Piketon, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 154-pound solid build. On the mound the righty has a compact delivery with max effort in his delivery and arm. Throws from a high-¾ slot with a sneaky fastball at 78-80 mph topping out at 82 mph with some run. Showcased two breaking balls. His curveball has a big 11/5 break at 56-58 mph. Showed a slider that is a little harder and more of late break at 61-62 mph. Also, threw a knuckleball at 58-62 with good movement and life.

Tyler Murphy, RHP/OF, Oak Hills, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 165-pound athletic build. On the mound the righty has good tempo in his delivery but has tendency to lean back on his leg lift, which makes him fall off a bit. Throws from a high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 75-77 mph with some arm-side run. Has good gradual 11/5 tilt on his breaking ball at 65-67 mph and shows good arm speed on his changeup at 66-68 mph.

Zachary Schaffer, 1B/C, Moeller, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 190-pound strong build. From first base he shows soft hands and solid footwork around the bag. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot with 76 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that uses a toe tap to load. Shows quick hands and uphill swing with occasional power. Registered top exit velocity of 85 mph and ran a 4.83
