Class of 2012 Spotlight: SS William DuPont from Lafayette

Committed to Mississippi State, the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder DuPont from Lafayette HS is ranked No. 4 in the Class of 2012.

At a rcent PBR shpwcase, Dupont ran an event-best (and Prep Baseball Report-best) 6.57 60. In the field, the Mississippi State recruit showed effortless range, smooth hands, and a strong (80 mph), accurate arm with a quick release.

At the plate, the left-handed hitting Dupont showcased a compact, line drive swing with considerable bat speed and gap-to-gap power.
