The PBR Illinois staff will host its second Class of 2022 Showcase of the year this Sunday, Oct. 18, at The MAX Sports Complex in McCook. This open event gives our staff the opportunity to get another in-person look at the state’s junior class.

ROSTER

We saw a handful of impressive prospects at this particular event back in July, headlined by Illinois State commit Shai Robinson (Homewood-Flossmoor, 2022), SS Randy Seymour (Lincoln-Way East, 2022), and OF Joey Little (Stevenson, 2022). Little, in particular, is a strong-framed athlete with natural barrel strength from a loose right-handed swing that’ll be in attendance again this Sunday.

Joey Little (7/15/20)

Two nationally ranked prospects will also be in attendance at The MAX this Sunday: LHP Julien Hachem (Mount Carmel; Oklahoma commit) and 1B Daniel Pacella (Mundelein; Kentucky). We haven’t seen the 6-foot-6, 219-pound Hachem since our Underclass Invitational event back in February, where he was up to 88 mph with his fastball. Pacella’s physical left-handed bat is noteworthy; he has some of the best raw power in the Midwest and he’s shown that he can comfortably reach it in-game.

RHP Elias Hachem (Mount Carmel; uncommitted), Julien’s twin brother, is obviously similar to his brother in size, standing at a physical 6-foot-7, 230-pounds. He represented Team Illinois at the PBR Future Games, where he was up to 87 mph, though he’s still harnessing his high-octane arsenal on the mound.

Elias Hachem (8/1/20)

1B Horacio Cobrales Jr. (Thornwood) and INF Ethan Willoughby (Maroa Forsyth) are two Illinois State commits that we’ll see at The MAX on Sunday. Willoughby, in particular, will be making his PBR Showcase debut, so it’ll be an interesting up close look at the state’s No. 82-ranked prospect.

We recently saw INF Matthew Morsovillo (Sandburg) at the PBR Illinois Fall Limited Series where he was one of the weekend’s top offensive standouts; a snippet from his scouting report from his performance there: “Highly-repeatable swing, quiet, minimal wasted movement, short to the ball, hands work on top, flat through the zone, extension through contact and high-level bat-to-ball skills. Wore out the middle of the field. Backspins the baseball to both gaps, lined out hard twice to dead center field.

Some other names worth mentioning that’ll be in attendance: LHP/OF George Bilecki (Marist), OF Nick Daugherty (Brother Rice), 2B/OF Blake Edmonds (Hinsdale Central), C Keegan Connors (Jacobs), C Tyler Dean (Benet Academy), and 3B Kyle Schupmann (Luther Prep, WI). Each have managed to stand out in one way or another along this summer and fall, so we’re interested in getting an up-close look at their progress since they last attended a PBR event.
