Colorado Upperclass Prospects Standout at LakePoint

It has been a busy fall season at LakePoint with a number of high-level tournaments that featured travel teams from across the country, including teams from Colorado.
The PBR Georgia Scouting Staff highlighted a number of standout prospects from Colorado in their post-event scout blogs. Take a look for yourself.
Rocky Mountain Lobos
Seth Beals, RHP, Rocky Mountain (CO), 2021
5-foot-10 170-pound right-handed pitcher, proportional build. Arm works long and clean on the back-side, hides the ball well throughout, over-the-top slot. Drop and drive delivery, works on-line, lands square finishing walking off the mound. Fastball sat 79-80, controlled the zone with. Relied heavily on his 12/6 breaking ball, went to it in any count and was effective in throwing it for strikes, maintained arm speed.

Brogan Stevens, RHP, Rocky Mountain (CO), 2020
Imposing arm at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds. Arm works well out of a OH slot with significant downward angle.. Quick, repeatable delivery. Fastball had very good command with some sinking action at 84-85; 5 mph spike from the spring. Strong-built uncommitted arm; ranked 39th in Colorado 2020 class.

Colby Shade, OF, Fort Collins HS (CO), 2020
Oregon recruit, currently ranked No. 237 nationally in the 2020 class. Athletic 6-foot-2, 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder with proportional strength. Quick-twitch tendencies, moves with fluidity on the bases and in center field. Offensively, generates bat speed with his hands, looks to get his swing off but doesn’t chase out of the zone. Calm, relaxed approach, strong at contact, ball jumps off the barrel. Doesn’t get cheated in the box.

Nate Bach, 3B/OF, Boulder HS (CO), 2020
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed hitter with lean, athletic build. Generates advanced bat speed, takes aggressive hacks, looks to get his swing off. Pull approach with power potential. High-follow uncommitted prospect. Currently ranked No. 79 in Colorado’s 2020 class.
Parker Dorrance, SS, Ralston Valley HS (CO), 2020
Uncommitted. Wiry-athletic 6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. Has a confident, relaxed plate approach with quick, whippy hands. Delivered three hits for Slammers during their Friday night victory, including a two-run single, a line drive back up the box and a rope to left field. Has a clear idea what he’s doing at the plate. Sure-handed in the field, average carry, longer arm action. High-follow uncommitted prospect.

Uncommitted. 5-foot-7, 135-pound right-handed hitting second baseman. Sparkplug hitting in the lead off spot for Slammers, delivered four hits during Friday night’s victory, including a double to left-center. Compact, level swing, maintains balance throughout. Runs the bases aggressively, swiped a few bags and scored runs. Plays with energy.

Uncommitted. Hulking 6-foot-6, 230-pound right-handed pitcher. Threw two shutout innings of relief during Friday night’s victory. Fastball ranged between 79-81 with some down angle. Plunge and cuff at hand break, comes out of a high-3/4 slot, around the zone with everything. Threw exclusive fastballs in game.

Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 195-pound left-handed pitcher, threw well during Slammers’ Friday night victory. Seemingly got stronger as game wore on. Fastball ranged between 75-77 mph, played mostly true. Curve ball worked between 65-68 mph, showed more action in the later innings.
Reid Johnson, RHP, Frederick HS, (CO), 2020
