Tell us more...
Tell us about your commitment. Why did you decide on your school?
FUNK: Quite simply, Pitt felt like home. I fell in love with the facilities and coaches and it was the easiest choice of my life after being exposed to such a great environment l.
The offseason is upon us. Tell us a little about your off-season training:
FUNK: I am currently working on being the best version of myself this off-season. I’m trying to get stronger, faster, and more prepared for this upcoming season in the cage and throwing with my teammates.
Baseball is a game built on adversity & failure. How have you dealt with the the ups & downs the game brings? Who might have helped you along the way?
FUNK: The best thing I have ever been told in this game is there’s always another pitch or another play. You have to have a short mind and keep faith in your abilities and in your talent and I try to focus on that every play. My parents have raised me so well and have taught me to always keep my faith and look to capitalize on the next opportunity.Who is your biggest influence in the game today?
FUNK: Josh Brown is a man in my community who is a big fan of Bellefonte baseball and has done so much for all of us. He has recently been diagnosed with cancer and I cherish his words of encouragement to me and always push myself harder because of the strength he has in his fight.
Best player you ever shared the field with and why?
FUNK: Logan Mathieu. He was a senior my freshman year and was the best teammate and couldn’t have asked for a better player to look up to. He has such a love for the game and it shows in his performance and everything behind the scenes. How has your experience been with Prep Baseball Report?
I enjoyed playing at their tournaments and the events they held for my team and I. They really take into consideration many factors when it comes to the players that play under their brand.
