PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?
CRAVEN: I chose Grandview because there’s a great baseball tradition there and the school has specifically what my major is going to be.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
CRAVEN: The other schools I was considering were Central and Luther.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?
CRAVEN: Coach Brinker had emailed me and said that he’d gotten my recruitment video and watched me play this summer and said I should come visit campus.  So I built a nice relationship with Coach Brinker while talking to him a bit.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
CRAVEN: Yeah I’m definitely relieved and very grateful that I got such a great opportunity. Now time just to focus on baseball and enjoy the rest of senior year.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
CRAVEN: Some deciding factors were that the facilities and coaches at Grandview are awesome and exactly what I was looking for. The University overall is just a great place to be in a great location.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
CRAVEN: My mom has helped me a ton to get to where I am today for always pushing me to do those extra workouts and make sure I’m getting my stuff done. The Iowa Sticks Organization has helped me the most though with all the development I’ve gotten over the years.  Very appreciative that I was able to work with the Iowa Sticks.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
CRAVEN: I was really expecting it to be stressful and hard to make a decision during the recruiting process and it definitely was.  I made the right decision in the long run though.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
CRAVEN: Coach Yacinich loves two way players so I’m hoping to improve my game fielding and hitting; just as much as pitching and see what all I can achieve.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
CRAVEN: My favorite memory in baseball so far was probably when I threw a perfect game against Woodward Granger my Junior year. That’s probably my favorite because it wasn’t all about me getting strikeouts or anything. It was a whole team effort and I give a lot of credit to my fielders on that day.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
CRAVEN: The best player I’ve ever competed against would probably be Casey Young from Winterset. Casey’s a good friend of mine and he’s a very talented pitcher and a great outfielder and also hits very well.
