PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?
Hake: I chose NDSU because I love the campus and the sports facilities they have to offer. It was also clear that the coaching staff has a clear plan for me and are excited to have me as part of their program.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Hake: SDSU
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?
Hake: I believe the first time they saw me was in our section baseball game against Prior Lake last year.
PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
Hake: Absolutely, it was a great relief for me to figure out where I was going to attend college so I could just focus on the game and not worry about trying to impress anyone.
PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
Hake: When I first got on campus and saw the school, sports facilities and met the entire coaching staff and discussed their plan for me it was clear that they were the best fit for me.
PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
Hake: My family and Aaron McEachran (MAC) at Macstrength.
PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
Hake: My expectations were that it would be somewhat quick process, but it became clear early on that that would not be the case. I learned that is was pretty slow process until coaches begin contacting you and it’s time to make a decision. It was difficult to try and remain patient, but it was a positive experience.
PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
Hake: Learn to play as many positions as possible so they can get my bat in the lineup year 1.
PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
Hake: Winning the state championship in 14AAA over Hopkins.
PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
Hake: Sam Thoresen

6/19/18- 6-foot-3, 205-pound right-handed hitting third baseman. #33 ranked player in MN 2019 class. 7.1 runner. Open stance, body load, short to contact, present strength, flashes pop in bat, fly ball approach, 82 mph exit velocity. Works around and through baseball, sure hands, moves flat footed at times, shows ability to make plays, accurate arm to bag.
3/18/18- 6-foot-3, 205-pound right-handed hitting third baseman. #53 ranked player in MN 2019 class. 7.2 runner. Square stance, body load, hitchy rhythm in load, drives top hand through baseball, short high finish, has pop in bat, looks to elevate baseball, with mid/pull approach, 89 mph exit velocity. Works around and through, fields deep into body, avg. effort, sure hands, accurate arm to bag, 84 mph arm across infield.
3/18/17- 6-foot-2, 186-pound right-handed hitting third baseman. 7.69 runner. Slightly open stance, athletic hitting position, good extension through contact, mid/pull approach producing hard line drive contact, 82 mph exit velocity. Sure hands, avg. range, tends to sit back on balls, sound exchange with quick release, avg. accuracy to bag, 78 mph arm strength across infield.
