PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Blackstone: I chose the school because they offered me the best scholarship and they offered the program (electrical line worker) that I wanted to do.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Blackstone: I was considering Saint Cloud State.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?

Blackstone: The coaching staff for saw me at a high school game. We started talking after I contacted him because I was interested in the school.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?

Blackstone: I was never stressed over picking a school to go to. I always put high school ball first and figured if I'm good enough I will have the opportunity to play at the next level.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Blackstone: The deciding factor was that they offered the program that I wanted to do.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Blackstone: My dad and brothers work with me all the time, so they are the ones I give the credit to.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Blackstone: My expectations were that you had to throw hard in order to get attention, but I realized there are only a few good players in the state. It ended up being very easy, a lot of schools contacted me, so I had a lot of options.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

Blackstone: The coaching staff at DCTC has plans to start me at short stop my freshmen season.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Blackstone: My most memorable baseball moment was in the state tournament when I was ten. We were playing White Bear Lake in the semifinal game. The first time I got up their outfielders moved to the fence. Their coach yelled out to them and told them, "Get off the fence he's not Paul Bunyon up there." As he was finishing his sentence, I blasted one over the score board. The next at bat they intentionally walked me.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Blackstone: The best player that I have ever played against was Jordon Joseph from STMA.
