Here is a look at some of the scores and highlights from around the state on Monday, April 3, 2017.


Brentwood Academy 5, DeSales (KY) 4
The Eagles battled back to score 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning against DeSales (KY) on Monday afternoon.  Bryce Jarvis finished 2-4 with a double, 1 run, and 1 RBI, while Conner Smith and James Rosen combined to go 4-5 with 2 runs and 2 RBI.  Garrett Smith popped a walk-off single to drive in Jack Victory.  Jeremiah Pittman got the W by dealing 5 innings of scoreless relief, allowing 5 hits and racking up 5 strikeouts.

Evangelical Christian 5, Harding Academy 4 (8 innings)
Keegan Westbrook finished  2-2  with 4 RBI and 1 run scored, tying the game with a 3-run bomb in the 6th to help send the game to extra innings.  In the 8th, he came to the plate again and drove home the winning run with an RBI single.  Riley Watkins hit a home run and scored 3 runs on the day, while also recording the W on the mound.

Dobyns-Bennett 4, Sullivan Central 2
After a back-and-forth battle throughout the first 5 and a half innings, Daniel Starnes put the Indians ahead for good with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 6th, driving in Evan Mahaffey.  Quentin Polinski added an RBI triple early in the game. Jeremiah Ball got recorded the W by holding Sullivan Central scoreless over the final 1.1 innings.

Clarksville 6, Northwest 1
Cody Spurgeon put together another dominant performance on Monday night, dealing a full 7 innings of 1-hit baseball.  Spurgeon allowed an unearned run, but struck out 9 and didn't walk anyone.  Skylar Luna, Luke Chilcutt, and Calen Kimmell led the offense, combining to go 6-10 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored.

St. George's 12, Fayette Academy 3
The Gryphons' offense exploded on Monday night to throw a 12 spot on the board against Fayette.  Colin Truitt drove in 3 runs, while Ben Glass, Spencer Smith, and Travis Kelly combined to go 7-9 with 3 RBI and 5 runs scored. Graham Sisson got the W on the mound, allowing 3 runs in 5 innings, while striking out 7.  

Tennessee 5, Science Hill 2
Zach Hall held the Science Hill offense at bay on Monday night, holding them to 2 unearned runs while striking out 8 and allowing 6 hits in the win.  CJ Hess and Nick Dobbins both finished 2-3 with an RBI to help lead the offense.
