Daily Roundup: April 3 Games

Rain wreaked havoc on most of the games in Kentucky yesterday, but teams who traveled out of town for spring break managed to escape the deluge and play some baseball.  Here is a look at scores and highlights from yesterday's action.

Tippecanoe 5, #1 Tates Creek 4
Devin Hairston went 2-for-4 with a double in the loss.

#5 Lexington Catholic 8, Ottawa Hills OH 1

#7 West Jessamine 11, Graves Co 0 (5 Innings)
Troy Merida went 3-for-3 with a RBI, and Trey Merida added 2 hits and 2 RBI as West Jessamine remained unbeaten on the season.  Joe Ivey worked 5 scoreless innings to record the win.

#10 Male 7, Monticello VA 5

#13 PRP 2, Chicago Christian 0
Jonathon Cavanaugh went 2-for-3 with a RBI, and Robbie Dale drove in the game’s other run as PRP won the low-scoring affair.  Jared Wilson struck out 7 in 6 shutout innings to pick up the win.

#15 Eastern 17, Fort Walton Beach FL 8
Eastern extended its winning streak to 10 games.

#17 McCracken Co 5, Crestview FL 2
The Mustangs used a 5-run 5th inning to erase a 1-0 defecit and get the victory.  Ryan Garner doubled and drove in 3 runs, and Tyler Hicks and Preston Frommeyer each collected 2 hits.  Frommeyer racked up 12 strikeouts and allowed 4 hits and no earned runs in 6.1 innings of work.

South Laurel lost for the first time this season.

#19 Trinity 19, Salpointe Catholic AZ 14
Cole Farrar went 2-for-4 with a double, triple, and 5 RBI, Nolan May went 2-for-3 with a triple and scored 3 runs, Tyler Hunt and Tony Meyer each went 2-for-2, and Sean Dageforde drove in 3 runs as Trinity won in a slugfest.  Nick Hoffman allowed 2 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out 5 in his 4 innings of work.

Riley Thompson went 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBI to lead the CAL offense.  Brett Cohoon scattered 5 hits in 6 shutout innings to pick up the win.

Greenup Co 11, Medina OH 3
JT Boggs went 2-for-3 with a triple and 2 RBI, Chase Clary went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, and Christian Wireman added an RBI triple in the Greenup County win.  Ethan Coldiron struck out 6 in going the distance for the win.

Harlan Co 2, George Rogers Clark 0
Zach Doss, Tyler Cornett, and Chance Brown each collected 2 hits, and Connor Leisge struck out 5 in 3.1 scoreless innings to pick up the win for Harlan County.

Cory Mullins went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI, and Joseph Holbrook added 2 hits and scored 2 runs as Madison Central broke open the game late.  Jeremy Lakes allowed 1 earned run in 5.2 innings to pick up the win.
