Jake Sommers ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted 8 2/3 innings, walked seven, struck out five, and allowed one run. In the tenth inning, the Lightning pushed across their only run of the day on an RBI single by Kody Fiorito. |

Ashwaubenon and Wausau West each put runners in scoring position on Thursday, but Ashwaubenon capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 5-1 win at Wausau West High School. Wausau West got eight hits compared with just seven for the Jaguars, but West stranded eight on base. Zach Imig boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Jaguars. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning. Will Ark was a workhorse on the hill while bagging the win for Ashwaubenon. Ark allowed one earned run, eight hits and one walk while striking out four over seven innings of work. |
