By: Diego Solares
Area Scout, Illinois & Missouri

Each week, the PBR Missouri staff will highlight players from across the state that put up strong performances over their games in that given time frame. These spotlights, mentioned within this ‘Diamond Notes’ piece, are submitted to us by filling out our ‘Diamond Notes’ form, which we’ll tweet out on Tuesday of each week. Coaches can also submit players to be included via email to [email protected].

This week’s edition of ‘Diamond Notes’ starts from Wednesday, March 29th through the end of Wednesday, April 5th.

Learn more about a few names that were submitted via their high school coaches to be recognized within this week's 'Diamond Notes'.

WEEK 3

Sam Birkenmeier, St. Dominic, 2023
Headed to Quincy in the fall, Birkenmeier continues to swing a hot bat for St. Dominic. In 13 at-bats, Birkenmeier totaled eight hits and brought five runs home, scoring five times on his own. Two of those hits were doubles and he homered, too.

Landon Fletcher, Webb City, 2025
Fletcher went the distance for the Cardinals in his outing, striking out 10 batters without allowing an earned run, and doing so on just 81 pitches. He’s 4-0 on the season with a save.

Will Geary, Valley Park, 2025
Geary was a key piece in Valley Park’s big week three, one that saw his squad pick up four wins total, including two conference matchups. Starting at shortstop and hitting leadoff, Geary finished 9-for-15 with 11 runs and four stolen bases, serving as a spark plug throughout. He tripled twice, homered, and had seven RBIs as well.

Andrew Henke, St. Dominic, 2024
Henke had a productive week at the plate for the Crusaders in the season’s third week. The junior picked up eight hits, including three doubles and three home runs, driving in eight runs total.

Kaleb Julian, Glendale, 2024
Julian’s output on the mound has been necessary for Glendale, and the Falcons’ junior threw well in two games in week three. Julian earned the save against Kickapoo after three strong innings of work out of the ‘pen. He drew the start against Hillcrest, surrendering two hits and striking out nine over his six inning start.

Brooks Kettering, Glendale, 2023
The SEMO signee has long been a producer, and he’s been an integral piece for a Glendale squad that recently jumped into the ‘Large School’ top-10. He finished last week 12-for-20 with a double, triple, and home run. He plated six runs on his own, swiping six bags from the leadoff spot, and also picked up a win on the mound after a four-inning stint.

Mason Lee, Pattonville, 2025
A top prospect in Missouri’s sophomore class, Lee’s production in week three from the top of the lineup helped the Pirates finish 3-1. He went 7-for-13 with a double, home run, and four RBIs. At the time of this submission, Lee was batting .429 with a 1.086 OPS.

Drew Wedgeworth, Glendale, 2024
Wedgeworth’s start on the mound played a huge role in Glendale defeating previously top-ranked Liberty North earlier this season. He went the distance, holding one of Missouri’s best offenses to three hits while striking out four.
