Prep Baseball Report Minnesota is excited to team up with Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine. Our goal in this endeavor is to continue to provide the most up-to-date pertinent information and resources to the baseball community in the state of Minnesota. Periodically, the staff at Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine will be providing content for the Prep Baseball Report Minnesota website; covering an array of areas in the athletic performance field.

Spear-heading this effort for Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine is Dan Christoffer, EdD, ATC, ATR.

Dan Christoffer is a certified athletic trainer at Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine. He is the head of the baseball and softball program there and works with all levels of baseball and softball athletes. Dan has worked in professional baseball with the Los Angeles Dodgers and with players from many other organizations.

It’s no secret that strength and power training is critical for improving on field performance for the baseball athlete. Just look at some of the best MLB athletes playing today.  They didn’t get to look that way by just playing baseball. They didn’t get that fast at stealing bases or throwing 100 mph fastballs by just practicing running and throwing. They worked hard in the weight room to gain that muscle mass, strength and power.
