2019 Spring Team Preview: Dublin Jerome Celtics

Team Name: Dublin Jerome Celtics
Head Coach: Chris Huesman
Division: I
2018 Record: 15-15
Conference Record: OCC 6-6 (4th)
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 8/6

2019 Team Strengths:

  • Chemistry
  • Hitting
  • Defense
  • Speed
  • Pitching

Coach Outlook: "Losing 2 starters, 1 of which was All-Ohio Rob Cope, brings back a ton of talent and most of that talent were sophomores, current Juniors. A solid senior class and a freshman class with several D1 candidates.  Jerome made it to the final 8 teams in the district out of 45 teams, losing a nail-bitter to Lancaster 5-4. The Celtics have lofty goals this season with almost everyone back. Return 1B/LHP Trent Belli, Ohio U commit, C/PHP Ryan Miller, ranked the number 1 catcher in Ohio his age group and a Tennessee commit, and a wealth of position players with tons of experience. Jerome is re-dedicating itself to getting back to where it used to be at the top of the Division with hard work and a new dedication from players that are bought in to Coach Huesman's philosophy. Look for the Celts, if they can get some young arms to step up, to make a deep tournament run and compete for another OCC title."

PBR Outlook: Coach Chris Huesman is confident about his 2019 Celtics and he should be, as Dublin Jerome has talent all across the roster. If some arms come around, look for the Celtics to be a team to watch in 2019.
